Saami at Armstrongs 12.13..3

Saami

Posted on 17 February 2014 by susan9472

Saami joined his forever home in February, 2014.

Saami’s Story…
This is Saami and he’s very special. He’s 2.5 years old, neutered, up to date on all of his vaccines and tests, chipped and heart worm negative. His foster mom really describes him best. She said, “Saami loves stuffed animals, is inquisitive, loves to play in the snow and is great with children of all ages. He is friendly with all, including strangers, and is not aggressive with other dogs and animals. Saami is leash (harness) trained, but still pulls a bit. He is house broken, has moderate energy and knows basic commands, but needs reinforcement. He has gotten used to sitting still for brushing. Saami is not protective of his things – you can easily take food, bones or toys from him and he very gently takes food from your hand. He does have a habit of picking up things – but he does not destroy anything and easily releases. Sammi always wants to be where people are, loves to have his belly rubbed and wants to lay by you. Saami is a truly sweet boy and will love his forever family so much.”

Sacha

Sacha

Posted on 06 June 2013 by susan9472

6/28/13 Update:

Unfortunately, Sacha and her new housemate in Colorado were not a good match, but we have good news to report.  Sacha has now been adopted by  SLSR member Jeannee Brave, who hosted Sacha in Kansas during Sacha’s journey to Colorado.  New photos coming soon.

6/19/13 Update:

Sacha is in the middle of a journey to her forever home in Colorado. First stop was Columbia, then an overnight in Kansas, and now onto Denver with a final destination of Parker, CO. This is a photo from her night in Kansas with SLSR member and volunteer, Jeannee Brave. The dog peeking in the background is her dog, Gracie. A special thanks to C.A.R.E. (rescue transport) and Denver Samoyed Rescue for making this adoption possible.

*ADOPTION PENDING*

This is Sacha. She’s 5 yrs old and a beautiful Sammy girl. She’s up to date on all of her vaccinations and tests, HW negative and spayed. She’s looking for her own very special forever home and family. She’s very sweet and loves to play. She’ll do best in a home with one family member that can stay home with her. A fenced yard is really preferable.  She would do best in a home without cats.

If you are interested in adoption Sacha, please complete the online registration form, and we will be in touch with you soon.

Update 6/15/13:  Sugar has been adopted and is living the good life in Memphis, TN

Update 5/23/13: A new photo of Sugar with her coat growing in:

Meet Sugar..she’s from Alabama, between 6 and 7 years old, weighs about 60 lbs., spayed, up to date on all of her vaccinations and tests. She’s heartworm negative. She’s been checked out by our vet, had a blood panel done with normal results. She’s active and loves to be outside. Due to bad matting she’s had to shaved back to start her coat all over again. She’ll have a full, beautiful Sammy coat in no time.

She’s very sweet, affectionate with a true Sammy personality. She’s in a foster home with another Sam and a Pyr mix puppy. She’s taken over the care of the pup. Please contact about Sugar.

Chase/Indy

Chase/Indy

Posted on 13 April 2012 by susan9472

***Update*** Chase, now Indy, is settling into his forever home in North Carolina!

Our newest rescue resident is Chase and he’s all the way from the Oktibbeha County Humane Society in Starkville, MS. He is 2 years old, neutered and up to date on all of his tests and vaccines. He does have a mild case of heart worms and is being treated.

He’s a very calm, sweet and playful Sammy boy and according to his foster mom is doing well getting used to his new surroundings. He did have some problems in the beginning getting used to one family member…their pet rabbit. Chase couldn’t understand why it didn’t bark back at him and didn’t run. Things are going smoother. He will definitely make a wonderful addition to an active family.

He had some training from his previous owner because he does walk well on a leash. The reason that he was turned in to the shelter in MS was because he would try to “herd” the resident cats. So, we don’t feel that he would do well in a home with cats. A home with a fence would be preferable.

Mo With Family

MoMo

Posted on 16 November 2011 by admin

MoMo was one of several Samoyeds rescued in 2010 when their owner, who fell ill, was no longer able to care for the dogs.  Known at the Miracle  7, the dogs had been left alone in a home for some time while the owner was in the hospital.  MoMo, 3 years old at the time, needed some TLC post rescue. Due to matted fur, he had to be completely shaved. Foster parents Kevin and Susan Wheeler loving applied sunblock to his very pink skin.

After meeting MoMo at a charity softball game, his forever family fell in love.  Mo, as his name was shortened to, now lives with Angela and Glen in St. Louis and lives for long walks at his neighborhood park and plenty of squeaky toy fun!
